Diagram of a window with labeled measurements for width (A) and height (B).

MEASURING METHOD

  1. Place the measuring tape on the inside of the aperture opening, ensuring that both ends of the measuring tape are hitting each side of the opening width.

  2. Vertically repeat this process so that you can find the height needed.

  3. N.B. - Ensure enough depth is available from the window handle to the blind itself is taken note of, as this will affect the mount decision.

  4. See the provided image to make sure you took the measurements well.

INSIDE OR OUTSIDE MOUNT?

There are two variants as to how you can initially install blinds. It ultimately depends on your taste and how well you want the sun to be blocked.

With an Inside mount, you would have some light entering from the side of the aperture.

With an Outside mount, there would only be a minimal light glow surrounding the blind, hence it’s more effective and darkness more the room.
